Build a business profile that can stand behind its claims

Keep your offerings, markets and identity consistent, and connect important facts to a public source that can be checked.

Start with your own website

Your website is the natural place to establish the business name, offer, audience and contact details you control. Write a concise profile and link it to the relevant pages. Distinguish the trading brand from the operating company when that relationship matters.

Describe what you sell in the language a customer uses. Include markets and locations only when you actually serve them. Do not turn a general ambition into a current product capability.

Attach provenance to changing facts

Give a claim a source and an observation date. A supported integration should link to current documentation. A product allowance should match the plan page. A certification should identify the issuing organization and current scope.

In NeoPresence, crawl-derived facts can be reviewed and corrected. Owner corrections take precedence, while source URLs and observation history keep the profile inspectable. A suggested business category is something to confirm, not an authoritative label.

Reconcile inconsistencies deliberately

Search your major public profiles for old business names, phone numbers and descriptions. Prioritize places customers actually use. Change factual inconsistencies where you have authority; do not create irrelevant profiles just to increase a count.

When an external page is inaccurate, use its legitimate correction process. Keep a record of the page, requested correction and outcome. A public-source opportunity does not give permission to publish on someone else’s behalf.

Review the profile as the business changes

Schedule a factual review when a product launches, a market changes, or pricing is revised. The useful question is whether a visitor can now find a consistent answer to what the business offers.

Structured data should describe the content the visitor can actually see. Use it to clarify real entities and relationships, and avoid adding fabricated ratings or unsupported distinctions.

A durable profile gives website writing, provider measurement and manual actions a shared starting point. It reduces avoidable confusion while leaving third-party recommendation decisions where they belong.
