Understand eSIM validity, top-ups and cancellation before your trip

Installation, activation, expiry and refund eligibility are different states. Here is how to read them together.

Follow the profile’s actual state

An order can be paid, provisioning, ready, installed, active or expired. These states describe different steps. A successful payment is not proof that a network profile has been allocated, and an allocated profile is not proof that it has connected to a supported network.

If a provider response is uncertain, review the existing order and contact support before purchasing again. Keep the order reference and the payment reference together.

Read both the deadline and the duration

A plan may specify an installation or activation deadline and a separate validity period. The validity trigger can be installation or first supported network connection. A duration such as “seven days” is incomplete without that trigger.

Keep a copy of the actual offer you selected. A general guide cannot define the terms of every local, regional or global plan.

Top up only with a compatible offer

A top-up adds an eligible package to an existing profile. Not every profile supports it, and the top-up’s coverage or validity can differ from the original plan. Review the displayed compatibility and expiry rules before confirming.

Do not assume adding data also extends every deadline. Follow the specific top-up details, and keep the profile installed when the instructions say it can be reused.

Cancellation and refunds are separate

A supplier cancellation can remove an eligible unused profile. The customer’s original payment must still be reconciled separately. Deleting the eSIM from your phone does neither.

Ask support to review technical failures, duplicate charges or an unused profile using your order reference. Eligibility depends on the facts, the supplier’s rules and mandatory law. A blanket “no refunds” statement cannot remove statutory rights.

EU consumer guidance describes withdrawal rights and exceptions for different kinds of purchases. Whether a specific telecom or digital offer qualifies for an exception requires the correct legal classification and consent process; simply publishing a policy is not sufficient.

Read the NeoPay cancellation and refund policy beside the selected offer and retain the confirmation sent after purchase.
